The Bee Cave Arts Foundation is throwing the first BuzzFest winter light festival at the Hill Country Galleria from Dec. 17-19. The event is free and welcomes visitors of all ages for a spectacle that includes light, sound and technology, said Art Foundation President Ashley Cobb.

The theme this year is Ocean of Bioluminescence, and the art installations and performance pieces are inspired by the glowing creatures found in the depths of the sea. The art will be spread throughout the Galleria, and businesses like restaurants and cafes will be open serving food and drinks, Cobb said.

“We are basically transforming the entire space into an outdoor winter light fest. You can imagine different projects displayed on the windows and on the street,” she said. “Everything will be lit up with blacklight so we are encouraging festival goers to wear neon or white or anything that will glow under the blacklights.”
